Tucked away in the heart of Castle Hills lies one of San Antonio’s most unexpected wedding venues. The Veranda sits quietly within a residential neighborhood that many people pass through without ever realizing what’s hidden behind its gates. Most couples are genuinely surprised on their first visit—it feels like discovering a secret garden in the middle of the city. In fact, I’ve lived in San Antonio my entire life and never knew it existed until I became a wedding planner.
Once you step onto the property, everything changes. The noise fades away and you are surrounded by lush greenery, mature trees, and beautifully maintained grounds. The plants are always full and vibrant, and the grass is consistently green and well cared for. It feels peaceful, private, and intimate, which is why so many couples fall in love with The Veranda in San Antonio almost instantly. The venue is described as a hidden gem with a historic estate house, pavilion, courtyard, and charming outdoor spaces that create a park-like setting for weddings and celebrations.
One of the biggest highlights of The Veranda in San Antonio is how versatile the space truly is. The venue offers multiple areas for weddings including the main estate house built of local stone, a covered pavilion with retractable glass doors, the terrace and fountain courtyard, the south lawn, a covered veranda, and a cozy cottage space. The Veranda can comfortably accommodate everything from intimate gatherings to expansive celebrations. Using the entire estate, the venue can host up to approximately 700 guests for weddings and receptions, giving couples plenty of flexibility in how they design their day.
The estate house itself seats around 25 guests indoors or about 75 if expanded outdoors onto the covered veranda. The pavilion space provides formal seating for up to 220 guests and flexible arrangements for receptions with space for buffets, bars, and a dance floor. The terrace and fountain courtyard are ideal for around 80 guests or more for outdoor ceremonies or overflow from the house, and the south lawn can seat up to 300 guests in a sweeping outdoor layout.

Another reason couples love The Veranda in San Antonio is the flexibility they have when it comes to ceremony locations. There are several beautiful options throughout the property, but most couples choose to say their vows in the green space right outside the main house. This area feels intimate and lush, with the gardens and historic architecture creating a truly romantic setting. Some couples choose to use the house itself as their ceremony backdrop, while others flip the ceremony and use the archway as their focal point instead. Both options are absolutely beautiful and photograph incredibly well. I love that this space allows couples to choose the layout that best fits their vision while still feeling timeless and natural.
Inside, the reception space at The Veranda in San Antonio offers something couples absolutely love. One of my favorite features is the large garage doors that open to create an inside-outside experience, allowing guests to move easily between the reception area and the patio. This creates a relaxed and social atmosphere, especially for evening weddings. It keeps the energy flowing and gives guests room to mingle, dance, and enjoy the night without ever feeling confined to one space.
The Veranda in San Antonio also partners with Spice of Life Catering, and they are consistently excellent. The venue requires clients to use their in-house catering partner, and Spice of Life handles all food and beverage services, ensuring top quality and thoughtful presentation for every part of the celebration. Their menus are customizable and they work closely with couples to craft a dining experience that feels personal and delicious, no matter the style of cuisine.
One of our favorite weddings we planned at The Veranda in San Antonio was Daisy and Jordan's fairytale wedding. The venue’s lush greenery made the perfect backdrop for their vision. Everywhere you looked, there were plants, soft lighting, and thoughtful details that made the space feel magical and intimate.
The couple chose a pink and green color palette that paired beautifully with the venue’s natural greenery. Greenery draped from the ceiling, floating candles glowed throughout the space, and each guest was welcomed with a personalized box and name tag. The couple shared a beautiful first look, followed by stunning sunset photos, and the dance floor stayed packed all night long.
Daisy and Jordan met playing games online, and friends flew in from all over the United States, with some meeting in person for the very first time. It was one of the most genuine, loving friend groups we have ever seen, and it made the celebration incredibly meaningful.
