One of our favorite features is the onsite lodging. Four charming cottages can accommodate up to 25 guests, allowing couples and their loved ones to stay together throughout the wedding. Between the cottages and the stunning bridal suite, everything you need is right at your fingertips. The bridal suite is like its own home complete with natural light, elegant getting-ready spaces, and plenty of room for your bridal party to spend the morning of the wedding.
What makes this venue especially unique is its location. Tucked among the trees, it feels peaceful and private, yet it’s only minutes from New Braunfels and the historic town of Gruene. Couples can enjoy the charm of a small Texas town while still having convenient access to hotels, shopping, restaurants, and last-minute necessities. One of my favorite memories at the venue was watching a butterfly drift through the flowers outside the open chapel as the owner, Michael, shared the story of the property. I understood why so many couples choose The Chapel at Gruene; it’s truly magical.

One of our favorite features of The Chapel is the cozy outdoor cocktail area located between the chapel and reception hall. While you’re off taking portraits, guests can relax and mingle before the meal begins. If you choose to serve alcohol, the venue requires a security guard (they have a list of recommended vendors). However, if you're planning a dry wedding, consider creating a fun mocktail bar instead, no security guard required!

The Chapel is open-air, allowing for beautiful natural light to fill the space. Consider starting the ceremony 1 to 2 hours before sunset to take advantage of the soft, warm lighting that makes both ceremonies and portraits absolutely stunning. Don’t worry if rain is in the forecast; the venue has contingency plans in place for inclement weather. While Texas winters can be surprisingly warm, they can also become chilly. Remember to warn your guests that the Chapel is open-air and to dress accordingly!
